IGF-1 LR3 is a synthetic long-arginine-3 analogue of insulin-like growth factor 1, studied in research into IGF-1-receptor signalling and cellular-growth pathways in experimental models.
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is a recombinant 83-amino-acid analogue of insulin-like growth factor 1, identified by CAS number 946870-92-4. It differs from native IGF-1 by an arginine substitution at position 3 and a 13-residue N-terminal extension. It is supplied as a lyophilised solid for laboratory research only.
It carries the molecular formula C400H625N111O115S9 and a molecular weight of 9117.6 g/mol. As a large recombinant protein it has no small-molecule 2D structure record. It is a peptide reference material, not a supplement, food or consumer product.
Native IGF-1 is the endogenous insulin-like growth factor 1. IGF-1 LR3 is an engineered analogue: the Long R3 modification (arginine at position 3 plus an N-terminal extension) is a structural change to the molecule. The two are distinct reference compounds. This describes what the molecules are, not any effect in a body.
