Neuropeptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signalling molecules in the nervous system, where they modulate communication between cells. They are a large and well-defined biological class: textbook examples include substance P, oxytocin, vasopressin, neuropeptide Y and the endorphins. As a product category at Kovalabs, "neuropeptides" groups the synthetic peptide research compounds that are studied within neuropeptide-signalling literature. The members are Semax, an ACTH(4-10) analogue; Selank, a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the endogenous immunopeptide tuftsin; and DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide), a naturally occurring nonapeptide. Note that this category is supply of reference compounds for laboratory research and is not the same thing as "neuropeptide" skincare or supplement products, which are a separate consumer market.
These compounds appear in the published neuropeptide-signalling literature, much of it originating from Russian research groups, in pre-clinical, in-vitro and animal model systems. Semax has been studied in research into BDNF-related signalling, Selank in research into tuftsin-related signalling pathways, and DSIP in research into neuroendocrine and neurophysiology models. None of that work establishes a benefit, effect or outcome in humans. Nothing on this page is a medical claim, none of these materials is a licensed medicine, and DSIP's name reflects its historical scientific classification, not any property Kovalabs claims for it.
Semax, Selank and DSIP are not controlled drugs under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and are supplied for laboratory research use only. They are not licensed medicines and are not for human or veterinary consumption. Materials are sold to be handled by competent persons in an appropriate research setting, and the buyer is responsible for compliance with all applicable laws and institutional rules governing their possession and use. See our research disclaimer for the full terms.
Every compound in this category is released only after independent identity and purity testing. Purity is assessed by HPLC to a 99% specification, and identity is confirmed against the expected mass for each sequence. Each batch ships with a certificate of analysis, which you can review on our CoA library, and all orders are despatched from the UK. Materials are supplied as a lyophilised powder for reconstitution by the researcher.
