What is KPV?

KPV is the tripeptide Lys-Pro-Val, the C-terminal fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). It carries the molecular formula C16H30N4O4 and a molecular weight of 342.43 g/mol, identified by CAS number 67727-97-3 and PubChem CID 125672. What does the research on KPV investigate?

Synthesis and supply

KPV is manufactured to research grade by solid-phase peptide synthesis and supplied as a white to off-white lyophilised powder. For laboratory work it is typically reconstituted with a compatible solvent such as bacteriostatic water. Store the lyophilised solid at -20C, kept dry and protected from light; hold reconstituted material at 2-8C.
