KPV is a synthetic tripeptide (lysine-proline-valine), a C-terminal fragment of alpha-MSH, studied in research into inflammatory-pathway and melanocortin signalling in experimental models.
KPV is the tripeptide Lys-Pro-Val, the C-terminal fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). It carries the molecular formula C16H30N4O4 and a molecular weight of 342.43 g/mol, identified by CAS number 67727-97-3 and PubChem CID 125672. Kovalabs supplies it as a lyophilised solid for laboratory research only.
As a short, defined-sequence peptide, KPV is studied as a reference fragment of the larger alpha-MSH molecule. It is one of several research peptides listed in our research category, supplied strictly as a non-clinical reference compound and not for human or veterinary use.
KPV is not a controlled drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and is legal to buy and possess in the UK as a laboratory reference material. It is supplied for research use only and is not authorised as a medicine by the MHRA. It is not for human or veterinary consumption. The purchaser is responsible for handling, storing and using the material in compliance with applicable laws and institutional rules. See our research disclaimer for full terms.
Every batch of KPV is released only after independent identity and purity testing. Purity is assessed at 99% or greater by HPLC, and identity is confirmed against the expected mass and sequence Lys-Pro-Val. The verified identifiers are CAS 67727-97-3, PubChem CID 125672, InChIKey YSPZCHGIWAQVKQ-AVGNSLFASA-N, formula C16H30N4O4 and molecular weight 342.43 g/mol. A Certificate of Analysis accompanies each batch, so not all material sold as KPV is equivalent: check the CoA. View our Certificates of Analysis for current batch documentation.
The published literature investigates KPV as a fragment of alpha-MSH within melanocortin signalling and inflammatory-pathway model systems, using in-vitro and animal models. This is pre-clinical, mechanistic research only. None of it establishes a benefit, effect or outcome in humans, and KPV is not a licensed medicine. For a referenced overview of the research area, read our KPV peptide research monograph; the product page is for identity, supply and quality information only.
KPV is manufactured to research grade by solid-phase peptide synthesis and supplied as a white to off-white lyophilised powder. For laboratory work it is typically reconstituted with a compatible solvent such as bacteriostatic water. Store the lyophilised solid at -20C, kept dry and protected from light; hold reconstituted material at 2-8C. Researchers comparing short peptides often also reference BPC-157, GHK-Cu and TB-500, all stocked as distinct research compounds with their own CoAs.

No third-party batch reports have been uploaded for this product yet. Reports are issued by independent labs after each manufacturing batch.

Store unreconstituted vials at −20°C for long-term, or refrigerated at 2-8°C for short-term use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water down the inside wall of the vial; gently swirl to dissolve. Do not shake.
Once reconstituted, refrigerate at 2-8°C and use within 2-4 weeks. Discard if cloudy, discoloured, or particulate.
