Epithalon (epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide studied in research into telomerase activity and cellular-senescence pathways in experimental models.
Epithalon (also spelled Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the amino acid sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, modelled on the pineal peptide preparation epithalamin. It has the molecular formula C14H22N4O9, a molecular weight of 390.35 g/mol and CAS number 307297-39-8. It is supplied here as a lyophilised solid reference material for laboratory research use only.
The two spellings, Epithalon and Epitalon, refer to the same Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly tetrapeptide; they are used interchangeably across the literature and supply listings. This is a research chemical and is not a medicine, supplement or food.
Epithalon is not a controlled drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, and it is not a licensed medicine in the UK. It is supplied strictly as a research chemical for laboratory use only, and it is not for human or veterinary consumption. The purchaser is responsible for handling, storage and compliance with all applicable local regulations. See our research disclaimer for the full terms of supply.
Each batch is released only after independent identity and purity testing. Purity is assessed by HPLC at 99% or higher, and identity is confirmed against the expected mass for the Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly sequence (CAS 307297-39-8, PubChem CID 219042). Not all material listed as Epithalon is equivalent: a verifiable certificate of analysis is the only way to confirm what a given vial contains. Batch documentation is available via our certificates of analysis.
The published literature on Epithalon sits in the pineal-peptide research area and examines the Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly tetrapeptide in pre-clinical, in-vitro and animal-model systems, including work referencing telomere biology and cellular-senescence models. None of this establishes a benefit, effect or outcome in humans, and Epithalon is not a licensed medicine. For the mechanistic and study-design detail, see our monograph: Epithalon and telomerase research.
Epithalon is supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) white to off-white powder and is soluble in bacteriostatic water for reconstitution in the laboratory. Store the lyophilised solid at -20C, kept dry and protected from light; hold reconstituted material at 2-8C. It is listed in our cellular research category alongside related reference compounds including NAD+, Glutathione and SS-31. For laboratory research use only; not for human or veterinary use.

No third-party batch reports have been uploaded for this product yet. Reports are issued by independent labs after each manufacturing batch.

Store unreconstituted vials at −20°C for long-term, or refrigerated at 2-8°C for short-term use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water down the inside wall of the vial; gently swirl to dissolve. Do not shake.
Once reconstituted, refrigerate at 2-8°C and use within 2-4 weeks. Discard if cloudy, discoloured, or particulate.
